PARLAMENTARI PER L'AZIONE ANTIPROIBIZIONISTA

Brussels, November 2002

Dear colleague,

on 15 and 16 October a International Antiprohibitionist Conference(1) took place in the European Parliament, and on that occasion the International Antiprohibitionist League (IAL) was revived to launch an international campaign to reform the UN Conventions on Drugs in view of the UN review Conference of Vienna of April 2003, an event mandated to evaluate the first five years of renewed plan to eradicate all drugs by 2008.

The IAL and the PAA (Parliamentarians for Antiprohibitionist Action(2)) have prepared a proposal for a parliamentary resolution that has already been endorsed by those Parliamentarians present at the Conference, who pledged to introduce it before their Assembly. We are planning to introduce it in the European Parliament as soon as possible, and we would be honoured if you would agree in co-signing it and sending it back by fax to 49496.

With our best wishes,
.
Cordially,

Marco Cappato (NI, Co-ordinator) • Chris Davies (ELDR) • Daniel Cohn-Bendit (V) • José Marìa Mendiluce (PSE) • Pernille Frahm (GUE)
