r. Dupuis, I've just learned that you are into the twelfth day of a hunger strike protesting the current Russian Federation's war against Chechen people. I want to applaud your actions and to let you know that, although I am just one person, I will also be taking part in the international hunger strike, scheduled to take place from March 12-14. I have been doing much research on the current situation in Chechnya in preparation for a documentary film that I plan to make, chronicling the war in general, but focussing mainly on the human rights abuses and the refugee catastrophe. In the meantime, please let me know what more I can do to help end this senseless war on a people and a culture. It seems the Rassians have prosecuted, tortured, and excuted innocent chechen civiliance. As if that is not enough now the Rassians want to force the chechen refugees back to the killing field of chechnya. Obviously the Rassians have been planing to wipe off the entire population. As long as the refugees stay in ingosatia the Rassians will have very few obvious reason to terrorise the population, although the chechen population never felt safe around Rassians for centuries. All this is happening right at the door step of European Union and so far it has done nothing to stop the Rassian Military agression on innocent civilians. I hope this Hunger Strike will bring the world's attentions to the suffering of the forgotten chechens. Mohamed

I support the Satyagraha for Chechnya with all my heart. The Council of Europe has to take action against Russia and stop it's barbaric orgy of violence against the Chechen people. Russia is run by a gang of criminals and Europe can not afford the cover-up any longer. The democracy for Russia, if European society would like to see it during this century, can come only with the international assistance. The silince over the genocide is not the way to help Russia to solve its problems and modernise the openly racist society. The serious, meaningful action of the CoE towards establishing Peace and Independence in Chechnya is long overdue. 20% of the small nation killed in a mindless invasion based on a cynical provocation and slander, enough crimes for another Nьrenberg trial ( with the many millions of innocent victims of the previous regime still ignored and all but forgotten) - if Russia wants to be part of Europe it has to own up to the crimes of the past and present; denial of the history of the mass extermination breeds monsters of today: Putin - the Butcher of Chechnya and his associates bombing civilians to cover up for the Yeltsyn's 'family' scandal of the embezzled funds. It's time to go back to the point where it all started before the giant smoke screen was put up by the Kremlin-Lubianka mob. It is time to join the forces in the fight against the real terrorists and their masters in Moscow.

I do not live in the Virigin Islands, but in the United States itself and I would like to participate. I met 19 Chechen students two summers ago in Poland and I have followed the details of the second war with great concern. Although Bush's policy seems to ignore the horrific human right's violations perpetrated by Russia against the Chechens, I have not ignored them and I do not wish to stand by idly.

The tragedy of Chechen people must be stopped immediately. Crime is not only violencing the innocent people, but also not to hinder others to commit it. We all must understand that many people, mostly women and children are being murdered for the only reason: they are Chechen. I have personally seen many victims of this horror in fall ’99 in different regions of Chechnya but the scene was all the same. I call European Council if it really affords any changes toward peace and democracy in the European nations take the late but still important step to prevent further violence on Chechen people and stop the Russian aggression.

Putin mette a frutto in Cecenia quello che i Russi hanno imparato dal loro amico Milosevic negli anni '90: bande paramilitari ricompensate con saccheggi e taglieggiamenti hanno campo libero, anche perchи manca qualsiasi presenza di giornalisti e associazioni umanitarie, presenti invece nell'ex-Jugoslavia. L'Unione Europea assiste indifferente, dietro il comodo alibi della "comune lotta al terrorismo"; la notizia che istruttori USA andranno in Georgia per verificare eventuali infiltrazioni di terroristi islamici и una buona notizia; il coinvolgimento diretto degli USA nell'area renderа meno agevole a Putin continuare a fare quello che ha fatto e potrа incentivare l'apertura di negoziati fra le parti. Ma per il momento tutto il peso della Cecenia grava sulle gracili spalle del Partito Radicale transnazionale; и necessario ed urgente rinforzare tali spalle con nuove adesioni al satyagraha e con nuove iscrizioni al PRT, in vista del Congresso di aprile!
